We are currently seeking an enthusiastic product manager to join the licensing product management team. As the Product Manager for Content Management Systems (CMS), you’ll be responsible for managing the lifecycle of our content management systems core technologies and products, and its integration with all relevant product lines from software tools and CE products. This key position focuses on the short and long term product offering to sustain the online distribution of content to desktop PC and devices. This position requires familiarity with content distribution methodologies and systems, knowledge of studio electronic sell through solutions, and content security mechanisms. THE EVERYDAY VIEW As the CMS Product Manager for DivX, you’ll work with Engineering, Product Management, Marketing and Sales to develop product requirements and help define and refine our go-to-market strategies. You’ll also be expected to: Define the Content Management Systems product strategy and roadmap Deliver product requirement documents (PRDs) with prioritized features and corresponding justification Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities Be an expert with respect to competition in the media technology space Develop the core positioning and messaging for the codec product(s) Perform product demonstrations for customers Propose an overall budget to ensure success Provide analytical data and collateral that define the codec product(s) Act as a leader within the company THE KIND OF PERSON WERE LOOKING FOR You have a demonstrated ability to clearly define product requirements, determine the business case and value propositions for various products. You research and deliver competitive intelligence on other offerings and create effective go-to-market strategies. You’ve been praised for possessing a unique blend of business and technical savvy and big-picture vision. You’re comfortable understanding trends and potential problems within complex markets, and adept at finding innovative solutions for the broader penetration of DivX technology in software and consumer electronics. In addition, you have: A strong technical background A proven track record of successfully managing, releasing and establishing market traction for new content management systems and content security (DRM, Conditional Access, etc.) Experience with open or partner shared source programs and community driven technology (consumers or developers) 5+ years in a position of increasing responsibility in a software and content management environments Experience and expertise researching and establishing product requirements Knowledge of software and web services with an emphasis on multimedia playback applications Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and present highly professional and effective presentations for both business and technical audiences A bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering is required; an MBA is desired On the personality side of things, you must be: A highly motivated self-starter with a high degree of integrity and creativity A charismatic team player with the ability to multitask Able to complement other product initiatives and work cross-functionally with other departments to drive and execute business and product strategy ABOUT DIVX DivX is a community rich with culture and informed by creativity, intelligence and passion for all that is possible with digital media.
