Summary of Position: To sell energy products to active and prospective commercial / industrial accounts in a territory that spans from Central New Jersey to Northern Philadelphia. Responsibilities: Service active accounts Responsible for maintaining all active accounts: Maintenance of account. Development of account. Increase profitable volume. Develop new business Prospecting and solicitation of new potential accounts in accordance with company guidelines. Aggressively close new sales and maintain relationships at the highest level. Sell new company products and initiatives to existing and active accounts (i.e. Demand Response, Green Products) Assist in determining new markets and update existing market information by organizing and supervising market surveys. Assist in promotional activities, trade shows and networking events. Planning and time organization Plan, direct, coordinate and manage entire sales area with direction from manager. Organize time and territory as required by manager to maintain maximum efficiency. Utilize salesforce.com to its fullest extent to maximize time and territory efforts. Administrative requirements Preparation of necessary paperwork with supervision as required: account input documents (set up and cancel accounts), customer account adjustments, and allowances subject to adjustment, expense reports, monthly reports, sales reports, memos, customer surveys, customer correspondence and special projects as required. Market updates Evaluate market conditions and provide accurate information to management. Competitive logistical information. Changes in competitor’s marketing strategies. Utilizing daily feedback from sales management, communicate changing market conditions to active and prospective accounts. Dimensions Typical sales territory responsibilities: -Number of active accounts 150 - 200 -Number of active locations 200 - 400 -Sales territory Central New Jersey / Northern Philadelphia -Sales volume 150 - 300 mbbl (fuel oil) 4 - 6 bcf (natural gas) 100 – 200 mmkwh (electric) -Dollar volume $50 - $100 mm annually Requirements -1-3 years of energy industry experience (preferably sales). -Bachelors degree in sales, marketing or engineering (MBA preferred) -General knowledge of the company’s objectives and policies. -General knowledge of Hess sales procedures and systems. -Technical knowledge of fuel oil, natural gas and electricity properties, composition, specifications and how they relate to end-users. -Knowledge of competition within marketing area: Competitor’s facilities and supply logistics Competitor’s marketing strategies and product offerings -Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Ability to use logical, systematic, sequential approach to problem solving. -Strong motivation to succeed. -Sales territory will most likely be Mercer, Monmouth, Ocean and Northern Philadelphia counties.
